1. Suzuki KingQuad 750AXi
Suzuki is considered by many to be the original manufacturer of the first quality four wheel ATVs, who emerged onto the market with their 1982 QuadRunner LT125. Three years later, Suzuki produced their first high performance ATV, the LT250R QuadRacer, which they continued producing until 1992. This is the vehicle that prompted many other companies (Honda, Mitsubishi, Yamaha...) to enter the market with their own versions. Today, notably the best Suzuki ATV available is the KingQuad 750AXi. Starting at around $8,399, this substantial ATV features a fuel-injected 722cc engine, independent rear suspension, and a locking front differential, all of which enable it to tackle tough jobs and rough terrain with no problem.
2. Arctic Cat Wildcat 1000i
This particular ATV has been long awaited, as Arctic Cat put in months of research into an innovative new suspension system with a full 18 inches of travel, taking utility ATVs where they have never gone before. The chassis is light yet strong, with the weight of the engine, radiator, and transmission all put into the rear of the vehicle. The cockpit is built to enclose the driver and one passenger, which is roomy enough to feel comfortably enclosed. The engine is a powerful fuel-injected 951cc beast borrowed from another Arctic Cat model, the Prowler XTZ 1000. This engine provides plenty of thrust to handle the worst kinds of terrain.
3. Kawasaki Teryx4 750
This ATV is built for four people, with enough spare room for a cooler and gear. This makes it perfect for family and social outings. It comes with a 749cc V-twin engine, CVT transmission, electronic power steering, and engine braking. Safety is important in this model, with features like the Roll Over Protection Structure (ROPS) that encloses the vehicles passengers. Comfortable to drive as well, this is the perfect ATV for a friendly group of outdoorsmen and women.
4. Polaris Ranger RZR 570
This vehicle has a 567cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine to propel yourself and your passenger through the wilderness. The suspension on this machine is substantial, with the front possessing nine inches of travel, while the rear allows for 9.5 inches of comfortable cushioning. Twin stay bars mean that the RZR remains stable and and flatter under tight corners. Reasonably priced at around $9,999, this ATV is worthy of some attention.
5. Honda FourTrax Foreman
This one man vehicle dominates the marketplace with its hard-working reputation and high quality. It should be noted that it was also designed in and built in the USA. The all new rear suspension system allows for 6.9 inches of travel. The foreman has a newly remodeled look that is tougher and more rugged looking, with oversized fenders for superb mud and splash protection. The OHV four-stroke 475 cc engine is all new in this vehicle as well, with improved power thanks to higher compression ratios. This durable vehicle starts at a very reasonable $6,899.
